Even with beauty mode off, Samsung made it so that there is still some skin smoothening. With it off, I prefer to see details.
It's a technological version of what the ladies do with their makeup![]()
I must say the camera on this phone is much better than the previous Notes!
I really like the beauty mode on it. For my online dating profile on Match and Facebook dating I use the beauty mode for my main profile pic so it shows my face really well!
It does a good job of making acne scars and your fine lines invisible. Since using Note 10 pics for my profile photo I notice I'm getting a bit more replies and people looking at my profile!
The problem with regular mode on the Note 10 for example is it's too bold. Like it makes freckles too dark for example. It's just too sharp and bold, exaggerated.

I agree. Too much skin softening and too much over-sharpening of other things
Especially the regular back camera. Also, makes the face look too distorted, facial features due to being too sharp. Like the nose for example is too sharp. The Note 9 wasn't quite as bad.
But the video mode on the Note 10 is not as sharp and as exaggerated as picture mode.
I wish Samsung would read these posts and take our advice.
Well they never gave us the IR blaster back.
