Okay One+ guys and gals, can you help me?

I have to admit, I am a Pixel guy. It's the night mode and portrait mode on the camera. I love them. Can you guys give me some opinions and advice on a person who wants to jump?

Samsuck isn't an option, won't even conscider it. I have OneUI (LOL! it's Touchwhiz). How is the UI on One+?

What about updates?

I know that One+ kicks the Pixel in the teeth with screen refresh, brightness and battery.

Thanks guys.

If a good camera is what you need get a 8-pro the regular 8 has a average camera at best.

One Plus is really good device , I have my 1+6 and 1+7pro but security updates come every 2 to 3 months , everything else very good .

Oxygen is probably one of the best Android skins, very close to stock with a few additions that are very helpful. You would like it.

OnePlus promises 2 years of Android versions updates (this generally means 3 new versions) and 3 years of security updates. Open Betas get an update at least every month and the stable channel every other month.

There's an open beta version for Android 11 already running on the 8 models (second build) and the stable version is expected to arrive soon.

I just went back to a OnePlus 8T from a Pixel 4XL. I've tried to love the Pixel devices and at times have but I've always had issues with them at some point and found the software while great in it's simplicity lacking a few things. Tried Samsung again recently and I liked it at first but it quickly wore off and just wasn't for me.

IMHO OnePlus has the perfect amount of customization without ruining the experience. They really do enhance Android.

Since Oxygen OS is so superb and also close to stock Android, I feel like you'd still really enjoy the OP experience. Looks like the camera has improved on the newer models, as well. :)

I went through 3 Samsung phones...had high hopes for the new FE...it's junk...screen sucks when it works and the proximity sensor does not work at all. Never had a Pixel...didn't need to...I read the reviews and saw the writing on the "forum" walls so to speak. The 8T is my 3rd OnePlus device. Had the 6, and the 7 Pro...both great devices with no complaints from me. Currently the 8T is working flawlessly for me. Now I use Nova Prime on all my phones so the experience for me is virtually the same. That's why I like using a launcher. I did use the default launcher for awhile and it is OK also. I guess you just get used to doing things a certain way and being a creature of habit...I like Nova. I would recommend the 8T.
