...the guy who designed the backplate on this phone! Such a b*tch to pry it off. Also I feel like with the battery life I will be needing to swap a battery each afternoon...hope I'm wrong.

Other than that pleased with the phone so far. The 3D videos on YouTube are sick, definitely changed my opinion of 3D. All of the reviews that said it was lame or not "popping" out must not have watched non-user created stuff.

Still wonder what I will do if the Galaxy S 2 comes out in the next month...that looks like a sick phone.

Sounds like my girlfriend's HTC HD2. When she first got the phone it seemed like that back cover was bolted on, but now after numerous times it comes off with ease.

The back was definitely scary the first time I popped it off. It's weird for sure. I'm having good battery life so far.

more details on battery life, how much was the phone used? I ask because, I had 99% battery starting at 4.20pm as I left work. at 6.12pm, it was at 50%. in that time, I used it to browse the internet, take 2 or 3 photos, and run some 4G speed tests. so yeah, the 4G radio was on.

Re: I really want to punch...

Battery cover is easy to get off, if you pop off the bottom and then go along the side opposite the camera button. I do like that It's not flimsy like the one on my 4G. As far as battery life goes, this thing blows my 4G away. With nonstop use I get 6 1/2 to 7 hours. My laptop doesn't even do that. Doing that with my EVO 4G, I would get 2 1/2 to 3 hours. With moderate use I look to get at least 16 hours. I do recommend using Juice Defender and use the aggressive setting. It definitely helps.

I barely got to 7hrs today...mostly on Wifi, using moderately to heavy use. I know its still fresh in our hands and will take a couple of days to settle in...but Im not thinking the battery is better than my 4G was...very similar.

I got 11 hrs yesterday before it asked to go on the charger and that was heavy usage showing it off to my co workers. The screen was on 71% of the time and it was connected to wifi all that time. 4 phone calls totaling about 1hr 15min. So far I'm impressed with battery life. It's much better than my evo. I could never get a full day of heavy usage on my evo.

You guys who say you think its good with the battery: did you do any sort of calibration ritual? Do you have things set to update in the background? Twitter? Gmail? Facebook?Contacts? Cal?

No auto updates.. Hard reset then calibrated the battery.... 55% after 15 hours.... Light usage though

I don't run stuff in background if i can help it. In settings I have it set up so no apps can update in background,, email I always have it set to manual on any device. I dont need emails popping up all the time. No fb notification on, if i want to see anything fb I just go there, don't want fb trolling for notifications all day. I keep gps off, why have it on unless needed. I set old evo up pretty much the same way and so far this device is way way better. Can't wait until mugen extended battery comes out, most likely be a 1900.
