I receive text messages that say DOWNL

I have an Asus ZenFone V, carrier: Verizon, if that contributes to anything. I asked those people I receive the Downloading text from, and they say that they didn't send me anything. This is not a rare occurrence either, it happens every other day. When it does happen, I receive 1 to 7 of those Downloading texts. But this seems to come from mainly 2 friends, and both are texting me from a laptop (not to say that I don't receive it from anyone else.) Does this happen to anyone else? If it does and you know how to solve it, please tell me.

Welcome to Android Central! When you receive a text message that only says Tap to Download, that means it's an MMS message, and your phone's not receiving it properly (possibly because mobile data isn't turned on, or mobile data reception is poor, or the APN settings are incorrect). MMS messages include picture messages and group texts. Is your mobile data turned on?
