I regret replacing my Note 2 with the GS4.

Messaging on the AT&T Note 2 is bad enough to make me want to puke. I shouldn't have to download additional ****ty apps and jump through hoops to try to get group messaging to work.

That alone makes me want to smash the note 2 with a hammer.

Wow!! The note 2 is the best phone ive every typed on ...oh thats an at&t issue....yea that sucks

I upgraded from an s2 and the s4 is amazing!

Sent from my amazing Samsung Galaxy S4... there is none better!

No reason to flame anyone. I have have owned every galaxy s device including both s2's which included the skyrocket and three models of the note. International, att note and note 2. I say this because I am very familiar with touch wiz and there are not many settings I do not know how to use.

When I got the s4 I was overwhelmed with the sheer number of options. Air, touch gesture etc. I like the phone for the basic smartphone features not all of the stuff it can do. I would not be surprised if someone has issues if much of this is turned on. The s4 has many more features than whatever is in 2nd place. Many of them should be turned off to get optimum performance. Not sure anyone would want them all turn off but many of them are over kill or show off things.

That said many people who have this problem have little knowledge of how to optimize this device for speed or performance so that is why the advice. With everything turned on I am sure it is a slow multi media device. Optimized it is a very capable device. It will continue to receive updates to optimize it even more like the note 2 received.

Just my opinion. Can I wait a few fractions of a second for the camera app to open and load? Yep, because I know the pics are going to be great. Everyone want to load all of these features instantaneously and that is just not realistic. Turn most of them off if you are not using them and it is a different device. And it will get even better in the near future with updates!

Thanks for this post. It explains exactly how I feel!

Nice constructive post, you must feel extra cool today

It wasn't that man, honestly I thought you were bashing the texting on the note 2 ..then I noticed(after I had started replying) you were talking about the group text issue on At&t..... and was just agreeing with you. ..that does suck...no disrespect intended...

Well to get an accurate answer you would want to ask someone who has come from BB ....maybe search the forums with searches such as "moved from BB" or "BB to Gs4" idk ....but Good luck

Oh, didn't know I couldn't be rude to the guy being rude. Duly noted.

Having the exact save problem. I love my Note Dose. Wanted to kiss it and marry. Had to switch carriers thought I'd try out this piece a rubbish. I've went into developer options and turned off all the fancy animations. I've turned off air view and other features as per Engadgets review. Nothing works.

I think it's rude to tease me with all these bonerific spec and then build software around it that apparently isn't taking advantage of it very well

My Note II ran TW like a boss. It's my only stock Samsung that both my Apple fan boy friends and Android fan boy friends and red neck friends alike would say "damn, that's as buttery as iPhone" about. This gs4 isa big disappointment after that.

I agree the Note 2 is very smooth. I got it back in November on release day and I believe it has had two or three updates or so to get it so smooth. The S4 will surely get there if not already, I have no doubt. Maybe it just needs a tad more optimization because of all the features. Sometimes when you tweak one feature, you bork another...it will be a great device! Both of mine are on ATT.

I agree. I'm not too worried. But I do feel like Sammy set a high bar and the expectation it set has put a bad taste in a lot of mouths. And bought my Note II with in weeks of its launch the same as this GS-Fo and I don't remember it ever lagging. I remember sitting in my car playing with it outta box and texting all muh nerdas telling them how snappy it was.

On the flip side problems lead to seeking solutions and fixes and making us more proficient users. So that part is kind of fun.

I personally am enjoying the GS4, but I am looking forward to the GN3. I will be looking at the GN3 ONLY if it comes with a minimum of 32GB (minus formatting and OS) no 16GB phones for me ever again. I loved the GN2 but the lack of internal storage and Verizon's bootloader BS was a big turn off. Being on ATT now I can freely get the phone(s) I want and move on without issue.

AND not physically larger than it is now. If they can make the screen larger but not the size great, but it is at the size limit for me.
