I returned my 16GB Moto X Pure Edition because it wasn't enough space for me

I think I remember my old S4 having only 11.2GB or something like that left out of 16GB.

I was planning on getting the 16GB version with a 64GB SD card but now I'm not so sure. Maybe I need 32? I can't decide because I do use a lot of apps and adaptable storage scares me a little

I used adaptable storage on my rooted S4. Never, not one time had an issue. There is a a brief delay while indexing occurs, but app runs just the same, just as fast with no problems.
90% of my apps were SD mounted. Only core system apps were phone mounted. This made my phone super fast with no delays when maneuvering.

I'm pretty sure this is what I'll end up doing. My S3 has been 16GB and I haven't had a need to even insert an SD card in the past 3 years of having it. If I end up being incorrect, I can always upgrade resort to adaptable storage

I'm hoping the android marshmallow feature where you can format the SD card as internal storage makes it over.

Once you do, the process cannot be reversed and it cannot be used in another device.
