I'm kind of wondering what to do now with a gingerbread phone and whatnot.

Anyone have some cool things for me to check out on here?

ALSO; How do I get Swype back?

Start going through the menus, especially the CyanogenMod settings, you will find lot's of ways to tweak your and get it running the way you like it.

To get Swype back, uninstall it if you can (you might not be able to, that's ok), then google swype beta, and sign up and download the SypeBeta installer, run it an your Swype is back. Don't put it on the sdcard, keep it on the phone as it's a system type app.

Well thats the thing, its not there to begin with; after doing this whole system wipe/root/flash. But I will try what you suggested.

It worked, but now I have another problem. I cant run things off the SD Card? I downloaded Weather Channel app for the widget, once I moved the app to the SD Card; the widget is gone, so is the option to get it...?

I just noticed some tweaks for this in Cyanogen, will that fix it?

Where can I get some themes?

Is it ok for my Baseband version to say Unknown?

Don't move anything to sd you know might start up when you boot your phone.(swype, home screen widgets) if you did justmove it back to your phone in manage apps. your SD card doesn't immediately mount so things that intend to run on boot may not if they aren't found

Most Widgets will not work if you move it to your SD card. It needs to run off your phone. Apps that do not have Widgets can be placed on your card tho. Hope this helps.

The good thing about gingerbread is it's security fixes for Facebook and calendar apps. Firesheep is so easy to use a 6 year old could use it. Picassa is still vulnerable.

I was wondering what the point of a 2g/3g toggle when the the power control widget comes with a data off toggle?

i think because switching to 2g still allows data while the phone is in sleep mode, so you can still receive new email or facebook notifications but you're using much less battery.
