So, I got a G4 and loved it so much from form factor to the camera to the screen and what not.

I had major touch screen issues where you had to tap 3 times to get the keyboard out, tap multiple times to wake up screen and it got so bad that none of the screen components would keep up. After 6 factory resets and 30 minutes with BB rep, I returned it since the next unit didn't seem to do any better.

I picked up S6 Edge since I needed something and I, personally think that LG has made a very nice phone. I miss G4 and I want to get back to G4 but Verizon has killed the experience and having hardware and software issues is not fun.

Am I the only one who thinks LG G4 is the best Android phone so far in 2015? I think G4 camera is better than S6 Edge too and I have the Sony sensor on my Edge comparing to isocell I had on S6. Do I need to attend some Phone Anonymous or something?

Is anyone else in the same boat that they love G4 even though it has a lot of issues?

Did you have a glass screen protector on the G4? I honestly have and had no issues - but I have the T-Mobile version. Best phone I ever had.

I kept the original plastic one on for a day or two but I had to take it off and run the screen naked due to all touch related issues. Bare naked screen but the issues were still present :(

Kind of off topic, but your thread title is pretty funny. :-)

Haha, thanks man. I am just trying to see if there are others in my AC family who are going through the same thing. I'm not loving any other phone as I did the G4 but it was beautiful annoying paperweight since every time I tried to use it, it made me mad lol

noobsquared sorry to hear about the problem you had. To anyone having such a problem that is difficult to measure - bring it to the store and compare to the employees phone - assuming same model, or live display model. Then next step - and you gotta do this - factory reset and run with just minimal apps to test.

On my H815 I used the stock screen protector - (no decals on it) for almost a week and interface was snappy.

I really thought you were asking for help with your device from reading your title. Now that I know you've given up on us.....I'm going to walk away like you did on your G4..........

.......lol j/k......but yeah, you need help! :D

haha...I have not given up on G4! I love that phone! I think I may return the S6E and wait till there is an update out to address all the issues. Or maybe get the black leather G4 from Verizon and keep swapping till I get the perfectly working device lol

Thanks for reassurance lol

I've got issues as well. This year I've had the note 4 the iPhone 6 plus the nexus 6 and now using the g4 all were on Verizon. I don't have any of the issues people are talking about but I did have a bit of battery problems. Did a reset 2 days ago and battery life seems to be much better. Getting 4 to 4.5 hours of screen time now vs the 3 to 3.5 I was getting. I think the g4 is one of the smoothest android phones I've ever used. I may need smart phone rehab though.

I have the Tmobile version with naked touchscreen case. The only touchscreen issues I've encountered were at times I need to double-tap twice in order for double-tap to work, but it doesn't bother me that much. Also sometimes holding down a keyboard key to get the second option takes longer than I'm used to (maybe not a touch screen issue).

There's an app called SGS Touchscreen Booster that someone in another thread recommended.

Here's another thread to look through for help: article about touchscreen issues - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Thanks man. I'll check it out.

I hear ya man. I need rehab too for sure! I looked at my google history and I've had 100 phones since mid 2013!!
I just switched to Verizon and have had Turbo, Nexus 6, iPhone 6+, S6, G4 and now S6 Edge.

On AT&T, I had every single flagship they have plus Huawei phones, Oppo, OPO, Sony and God knows what else. iPhone 6+ I have is the first phone I used for over 2 months in the last few years lol
It seems like I may have gotten a bad unit. Maybe I *should* return S6 Edge and get another G4?

Yeah, it doesn't seem like you have any issues. My messaging app, stock, verizon one and google one, all of them had the same issue. Tap in the box to pull up keyboard and it won't come up till you tap in that box at least 3 times!

I know I'm not answering your question here, but I have issues too. I've gone from a Nexus 6 to an S6 edge to an S6 to a G3 to a Nexus 6 to an iPhone 6 Plus to an S6 to a Nexus 6 in about 2 months. I'm now looking at the S6 Active because I miss that camera, but hated the battery life of the S6 (and the Nexus 6 is GIGANTIC - love it, otherwise). I have severe issues. Like, I need to seek medical help issues. :)

No kidding man. My wife thinks I need phone rehab or something. That's the problem with Android phones...there is not one phone that offers everything. You sacrifice one over the other. Just like the other day when I went in to pick up my S6 Edge...I told the guy that if it has ISOCELL sensor, I won't take it. Turns out it had Sony. The Samsung agent that sits at BB came over to see what the deal is and he compared my Sony S6 Edge Camera to his S6 Active ISOCELL and even he could tell that ISOCELL is not even close to Sony in quality. Sensor is slower, blows things up too much and too much noise.

Only reason I returned S6 was because it had ISOCELL sensor and it took pics worse than my 6+.

I'm hoping all G4s have IMX234 like promised. I haven't had any issues with it though.

Oh..and I'm back on another G4!!!

Yay!! Let the party begin! LOL

The keyboard delay is adjustable. Look for the long keypress duration setting in advanced keyboard options.

My wife used to get annoyed with me. Now she just doesn't say anything. As long as I occasionally get her something good, too.

I agree about Android that there just isn't that one phone with EVERYTHING.

I'm using a Nexus 6. I have an S6 that I'm most likely selling. But I'm also looking at the Active. I liked the S6 a lot but I hated monitoring my battery. And S6 with easy all day battery life is pretty much what I'm looking for. But then again, I love me some stock Android...

Haha, we live and we learn...I do the same thing...take her out to a nice meal once in a while and keep changing phones. I used to do this with cars but she says phones are cheaper so she doesn't say much. Although, I did just pick up another motorcycle...lol

Yeah, I wish one phone had it all! You want good camera, here's some lag to go with it.
You want the prettiest phone, here is 15 chargers so you can charge it anywhere you go.
You want updates quickly? Here is a giant phone with so so camera and battery life. I loved everything about N6 or the 6 of them I've had except for the super slow shutter in indoor lighting. G4 is slow but N6 is slower in low light.

Just be careful about the S6 Active. I have yet to see one with Sony sensor for camera. If you don't mind ISOCELL's slower sensor, go for it..it's almost perfect!

Yeah, I do so much trading that it usually doesn't cost me THAT much. But she knows I'm always looking to get the next best thing. Which sucks because I prefer Android. I really like the Nexus. I can get pretty solid pics, but it's slow and I sometimes miss the moment with my 2 year old. The S6 is nice, but I'm tied to a dang charger all day. I'd be ok with the Isocell. I think I'll probably end up going that route. REALLY wish there was a 64gb option. I'd gladly pay more for that.

I hear ya. I had the same issue with N6. I love that phone in white but subpar camera kills it for me because of kids. Everyone says get a DSLR...lol. I have a DSLR and anyone who has kids, knows that you can never get to the camera in time. You can't plan most of the pics lol. Good luck with s6 active man. Maybe I got a bad unit but my isocell s6 took worse pics than i6+. Maybe yours will be better.

And I do the same thing. A lot of sell and trade and it is not too bad if you're patient lol

noobsquared, I think you need to think about what is most important to you in a phone and go with the phone that meets that need the best. I have some issues with my G4 with the touch screen, but I also like to use my touch screen with my middle finger, so I've had issues with touch screens on all phones because of that. But yes, I have noticed in the past week that my touch screen has been a little less sensitive than the week before. I also went from having an Otterbox Defender screen protector over a Zagg Invisibleshield screen protector to just having the Otterbox Defender screen protector. I had that annoying oil slick on the screen when I was using both. But I honestly think the phone was more sensitive to my touch when it had the two screen protectors on it as opposed to the one. But, anyway, I digress.........for me, having a fantastic camera was a top priority, as well as having a large screen. I was also tired of iOS - always the same phone, just with a faster processor and a larger screen for a ton of more money. I wanted customization. I did the research and tech journalists on various sites were raving about the camera on the G4. I went to an AT&T store before the G4 came out and played with the G3. I was happy with it and considered just buying it, but I waited for the G4 and took the leap of faith. The camera is phenomenal. I love the large screen. I love that the phone is light, even in an Otterbox Defender case. I love the customization of Android and the LG UI. I don't like that I sometimes have to tap a letter on the screen more than once when I'm texting. But for me, it's not a dealbreaker. If it is for you, that isn't a bad thing. Everyone is different and has different needs. You don't need to feel bad if you weren't happy with the G4 and everyone else seems to be. A lot of people think I'm nuts for giving up on iOS. I don't care. I think you need to take your time and try out EVERY Android phone you can try in every store you can go to. And then don't buy on the spot. Go home and think about it. Do more research online. Maybe you would like an HTC phone? I tried some of those out the night I tried out the G3, and they were very good contenders. I remember them having good keyboards. They have their downsides, like the batteries being sealed in them, but again, it's about what YOU can live with and not what anyone else wants/thinks. :-*

I had the same lag & freezing problem that killed the phone for me. I loved everything about the G4 but couldn't deal with the touchscreen sensitivity. I returned it before my 2 weeks were up. I've been keeping an eye on this forum to see if a fix is ever found cuz I'd buy it again if so.
