AC Question

Hi all,i need some help,i have a Samsung galaxy tab,and i feel like a complete ***** for saying this but i inadvertently downloaded what i thought was a legitimate apk file, only to find it was something completely different,i keep getting porn sites installing themselves onto my tablet,i have done 5 factory resets so far and it is still on my system, every time my device reboots i constantly get an application has stopped, but in pressing the ok buttton it just downloads regardless whether i press the ok button or not,and now i am very frustrated with what to do in order to eradicating this malware/virus,i even tried installing avast, and got told that it found unwanted malware, and gives me the option to delete it,and says it is deleted, when in actual fact it is still on my android device, the malware/virus has some how rooted itself, and i do not know how to get rid of it completely, please help.or is my tablet just a useless piece of hardware now,any help would be very much received.

Welcome to Android Central! Try the following:

1. Go to Settings>Backup & Reset, and uncheck Automatically Restore.
2. Do another factory reset.
3. After you're done with the Setup Wizard, go immediately to the Play Store and stop any app from automatically installing.
4. Now see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, start reinstalling your apps one by one.

Hi,no the problem still persists, every time i reboot and wait a minute or so i get a message popping up saying unfortunately secret lock has stopped,i've even tried to google it but can't find anything regarding it,so don't know if it's a virus or something else,i have even tried a hard reset but still it re appears i can't seem to get rid of it,is there any way to re install android o/s like that of a pc,thanks again for your time.

The steps I suggested above were for a factory reset, not a reboot. When you did your hard reset, did you follow the other steps I mentioned?
