I thought fast boot didn't work with other launchers...?

I thought I heard this somewhere, so I always avoided trying other ones. Lately, I've been trying them out, and I notice fast boot still works even when a non-Sense launcher is my default. Did I just hear wrong about that before, our was this something that was fixed through updates?
