A couple of things that have been driving me crazy with my new bolt. I dont know if they are myths or facts...

I have been having trouble with battery life, so I took the advice of some people and uninstalled my task manager. I go into look at the running apps now (just through settings) and there are A TON of apps running. Things that I didnt even open. Some reopen it seems automatically (Dropbox, Colornote, FM Radio, Friendstream ect.)

Does anyone know why this is and if its actually destroying my battery or not?

Also, does wifi save battery or kill it? My phone was drained after two hours today and I check in spare parts and it said wifi was the main reason...so to leave it on or not...

I mean I feel like I cleaned up the phone pretty well, did a bump charge, have no widgets other than the Clock and am never running wifi gps or bluetooth and my accounts never sync but im still getting crap battery life. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

WiFi does save the battery and don't work about the background processes. Android has its own built in management system. Some apps have to run in the background in order to operate efficiently.

Apps can use up battery, if you have them set to do something in the background... something like Friendstream can be set to update every hour... you should open it and see what you have in the settings of the app.

Wifi is best to use when you have a good wifi signal because you will use less energy when pulling from wifi vs 3g or 4g. If you are not near wifi then you need to turn it off because it will needlessly drain the battery checking for the signal that is not there.

You may have a bunch of tasks running but that's ok because if you exit them correctly they are inactive, thus having 0 impact on the battery. They remain open but inactive, which means the programs load much quicker when reactivating them.

If you're only getting two hours then there's something else going on. I managed to get 8 full hours and the phone had barely dropped to 75%.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Im definitely not getting this type of battery productivity. Its rediculous.

When you're exiting an app, don't hit home, hit the back button until you're out of it.

Brightness to 25 percent. Disable Blockbuster updates.

This is all I've done and my battery life is fine.
