I want to get an HTC One M8

Ok so my contract is due since February and I'm really really happy with my Lumia 1520 but I don't want my upgrade to become a waste so I finally decided to get an LG G3 then sell that and get an HTC One M8 since it's not available in my carrier.

LG G4 expensive, M9 not available so I'm going to stick with the G3.

I have a few questions:

1. How is the headphone jack audio quality? Most people would argue that iPhones are incomparable when it comes to audio out but the M8 is rivaling right now based on the reviews I saw. I'm planning on getting an M8 or a 5S but since the M8 has expandable storage I guess I'm going that route. Is the audio quality really good?

2. Does this phone count steps? I'm using Microsoft Health on my L1520 and I don't want to use another health app just because I've been using this for a year and has all my data already. (Can someone please help me on this? I wanna know if MS Health is functional on this phone without a Microsoft Band like my L1520 does) Thanks so much!

3. How is the camera? Obviously the camera is the least of my concerns since I have a 1520 but it would probably be a great secondary camera sometimes..

4. Battery life? How is it? I plan on just using the M8 as a secondary phone (a few texts and calls here and there), a workout device/running device (the reason I want this phone is because the L1520 is a pain when working out and running. Too damn big and with very few accessories, I really can't give it a decent armband) and mainly for music. Will it last me through the day?

If only the M8 for Windows is available in the Philippines, I'm selling my 1520 and get that. Thanks guys for the help!

1) I use the headphone jack all the time, mostly to feed into my car stereo, but also to headphones. It sounds excellent, but the Boom Sound effects may not be for everyone. With something plugged onto the AUX jack, you can go into the system settings to turn Boom Sound on and off (It's not optional when using the built in speakers). I prefer it off, but mostly because I use the car's EQ instead.

2) It comes with the Fit Bit app and can count steps. One possible down side of this is it tracks the phone movement, so using the phone certain ways could trigger step counts and give you a slightly false number of steps. I've seen it count something like changing my sitting position as steps.

3) The camera tends to either be good or bad, depending on your usage. The low resolution can hinder zooming and large printouts, but it has excellent color accuracy and one of the better cameras at low light conditions. The biggest complaint I've seen is they leave a film on that is prone to scratching. It's not the lens being scratched, only the film, and it's easy to remove it ask together.

4) Battery life is good, but it's not removable. If you decide to buy the M8, be attentive with charging and you should be fine. Unplug it when it's fully charged, and charge it when it gets to about 40%. Lipo batteries don't like being held at full charge or drained completely. It'll speed up the chemical degradation and prematurely loose capacity. Many people tend to inadvertently abuse their batteries, especially by leaving them plugged in all the time (I used to be one of them). So don't buy a used one, because you'll never know how the last owner treated the battery. I had a warranty roulette claim where I suspect the battery in my replacement phone was abused by the last owner because the phone has nowhere near the life of the one I turned in.

Thank you so much! I think I'm gonna go for it.
