I want to root my TB

So I've been looking around for a way to root my thunderbolt it is version 1.70.605.0 I haven't been able to find a way to root it. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Also, when I root do I lose all my data on my SD card? Thanks much appreciated.

To add on, it's also much easier than it seems to a newcomer. Just read everything a few times instead of trying to follow along while you're doing it - it'll help if you encounter a snag to know what the next steps typically would be, and by reading through the thread you can find answers to common problems that will help you out in the event it doesn't go perfectly smoothly.

This will hopefully answer a few of your questions, and regarding the SD card, the answer is no, the root process only wipes internal storage, not the SD.

Thanks for all the info guys! I used the ADB method and it worked flawlessly. Now to put some custom roms on this puppy and have free wi-fi!!!! Anyways thanks again.
