Sent over which app? (If it's a text app, it may require a connection to your provider. If it needs any internet connection, it may not be seeing yours. This is difficult to troubleshoot remotely like this.)

(Do you have a limited internet connection? That would mean that you connected to the router, but not to the internet.)
