Ice cream sandwhich for droid 3???

Hey guys,
I am prettty sure everybody wants to know when ice cream sandwich (andriod 4.0) will come to the droid 3, can anyone find some information on it(date and if it will acually release for the droid 3). Is there also another way to download the update? If we rooted our Droid 3 will the update mess up our phone?

It will mess up the phone i rooted my droid 3. it worked fine for a while then the company sent my phone a update for ICS because i put a rooted version on my phone and it broke. and had a infinet loop at the boot screen. I told them my phone froze and they gave me a brand new one for free.

end of story if phone is already rooted try to unroot to original state or if you have a os backup.
No obligation try at your own risk.

To be honest ICS isn't that great

The following things are cool, but not mindblowing

-I like how you can make app folders on the homescreen
-The new app drawer is ok
-I like the new browser (tabs, request desktop page in settings)
some apps (youtube, google plus, gmail) are giving a nice makeover
-face unlock
-improved voice dictation
-new multitasking feature
-notifications can be accessed from the lockscreen

Things that bug me (from cm9)

-The google search bar is now stuck to each homepage taking up all sorts of space. I think they are trying to get rid of the search button.
-they are trying to get rid of the menu button, so you have to search for these three little dots to get options (probably not an issue on the droid 3)

I do not know why they are not releasing it for the Droid 3, the phone is not that old. I will probably not buy another Motorola phone, they seem to have the worst quality cameras on them....

But look on the list, their mostly all 4G phones. Verizon is really trying to push their 4G phones, so their not really allowing newer support for the 3G devices. Also that the 'Droid 4' is out, so its also a ploy to buy the newer devices.
But its ridicules.

CM9 for Droid 3 now has a working Camera, now I might try it. When I figure out how without messing up my phone.
