So I exchanged the nexus for the rezound last night..and was wondering if/when the rezound will update to Ice Cream Sandwich? The salesman had doubts that this phone will get the software update...though I believe no such thing! Anyone know?:-*

The salesman was an idiot if he thought the Rezound wouldn't be updated to ICS. It may not be pure ICS, may have a Sense UI but it will most likely get ICS Q1 2012

It will arrive in the coming months. There is no definite timetable but HTC has committed to releasing it to stock Rezound owners once it's completed. I don't think any oem will push out any ICS OTA till March at the earliest. So unless you root and drop in a custom ICS rom, you'll enjoy GB for a little while.

Even that is up in the air, last I read. They weren't even sure if Sense 4.0 was going to be paired w/ ICS. I mean it's the most likely candidate but I don't think it's been set in stone, yet. Did that change recently?

No, but from what I understand one of the main reason the various manufacturers have these custom UIs is for the experience. Some people like MotoBlur, some like Sense. Without these custom UIs there'd be no particular reason for the average level consumer to favor one phone over the other, and it's the average consumers who make up most of the phone sales. In my mind it doesn't make sense for HTC to not continue using Sense to differentiate the phone from from a Motorola unit.

I think what I'm saying is that the UI and experience of the Sense or MotoBlur is the selling point for the majority of smart phone sales. When it comes to the technical minded people who buy the phone on it's hardware merits we don't make up a large portion of sales.

+1.
Only reason I mentioned it was because there was talk of them stripping Sense and making more stock ICS-esque, than pure Sense. I just found that intriuging since they've been so Sense intense and heavy on the ui, over the years. I like Sense it's just so cumbersome it aggravates me, although the Rezound doesn't react as bogged down as it's forefathers. Just wondering what HTC is gonna do w/ ICS ibtegration, is all.

Hello - I'm just curious as to why specifically you traded the Nexus for the Rezound?
I'm looking at both and I'm very interested on why you switched?
Thanks for any tips or suggestions!
