Icon in trash bin

I was trying to move the icon for My Files to the top of my home page and accidentally sent it into the trash bin. I can still find this icon in an obscure manner by going to my files in the applications. However, I can't move or copy the icon. I tried a long press......no joy. I would really like to use the native icon to put on my home screen. I have temporarily downloaded a My Files from the play store but would prefer the one I trashed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you opening the App Drawer (i.e., tapping the icon that looks like a grid of dots, in the bottom row)? If so, nothing happens if you long-press the My Files app icon? Are you on Easy Mode?
