Icon question

I'm trying to figure out what the icon is to the left of the gps icon. I've never seen it before, what is it?

The eye? That's the smart stay icon. Keeps the screen from darkening while you are looking at your phone.

I think it works, that is my phone doesn't go off or dim while I'm staring at it.

Yeah it works. I have seen the screen about to go off then go back to full when I looked at it.
