icons on the desktop

Dumb question but I noticed that while I have Chrome installed on my Infinity 700 tablet, there is no icon for it any where. How do I set up an icon for Chrome on my "desktop" i.e. the screen that is first presented when I start up the tablet?

I have tried to uninstall it and then reinstall Chrome but that did not do it.

No icon anywhere? Must be in the app drawer, right? Just open the app drawer, long press the Chrome icon and when you begin to drag it, you should swap right to the desktop for the shortcut.
