Did anyone find out how to make custom mp3 ring tones on ICS on the Nexus S. I used to use rings extended, but doesn't look it works anymore.

I'm sure this is similarly related, but pictures from my SDCard don't show up int he gallery anymore either. Do I need to do a USB wipe or something?

I didn't find an answer to this either, but I figured out a workaround.

Before I upgraded to ICS, I had one custom ringtone in:

/mnt/sdcard/media/ringtones/

and ICS still picks up that file when I go through the list of possible ringtones

so what I did was every time I wanted to use a custom ringtone, I would just rename my new file to the same name of that one old.

It's not a real solution, but at least you can change mp3 ringtones if you wanted to- that's if you had at least one before updating.

I had considered going back to Gingerbread and then putting in mp3 ringtone files given them numbers as file names and then update back to ICS and do the renaming thing whenever I wanted new ringtones, but I don't have the time or patience.

If someone tries it, let me know how it goes and how long it takes.

its very simple surprisingly enough, You have to copy any files you want to use as ringtones to:

sdcard/ringtones/

:p they then appear in the sounds settings and apps ringtone settings also
