ICS and Sense 3.5 or 4.0

So with all the info coming in from MWC about htc and their new One series coming in, it makes me wonder about updates for the rezound. Specifically, will the rezound get sense 4.0 or stay 3.5 whenever it finally gets ICS?

I know there are problems that i probably dont know about doing this, but would it not be easier to update sense with ICS? That way they would not have to retrofit 3.5 to it for only the rezound and rhyme. The only 2 problems i see with this idea is that it could take sales away for the One series, and the buttons are different on the bottom.

Also, if they do stay with 3.5(somehow) what will it look like and how similar with it be? Will you be able to see ics at all? How have these updates to android gone in the past with other devises?

This may have been addressed somewhere, but i didnt find it or any reports specifying.

If you want to see how Sense looks with ICS just check this out:

As far as HTC updating Sense on the Rezound themselves, I wouldn't hold my breath. They have a pretty poor record of updating Sense on any HTC device. That's not to say we wouldn't get a bump to 3.6 with ICS but 4.0, I kind of doubt it just based on their past performance.

HTC should field trip their staff to XDA, to see what happens when good ideas, don't go wrong.

HTC said ICS will be coming to phones "later this year" for phones that included the rezound and the vivid (on at&t). Along with the announcements for the HTC One phones, AT&T also said the vivid ICS update is coming in a few weeks along with an updated sense experience (but didn't say if it was Sense 4.0). Let's hope we'll hear something similar for the rezound.

The HTC One V has Sense 4.0 and it has lower specs and screen resolution than the Rezound. I fully expect Sense 4.0 to come.

The Rezound will get Sense 4.0. Sense 3.5 is meant for Gingerbread, Sense 4.0 is meant for ICS. We currently have sense 3.6 on the ICS leaks. Which I'm guessing was the first build of Sense on ICS.

Can't wait to get Sense 4 on our Rezs, and I hope Pandora will be utilizing the Beats API so I can enjoy streaming music with better sound.

They need to support my tab!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but its looking like the rezound and all the other sense 3.x handsets will be getting 3.6 instead of 4.0. Phone arena has a sensation loaded up with HTC's ICS technical preview (HTC announced a European preview dealio a short time ago) and its 3.6 not 4.0.

Not sure what the differences are, especially since the version they have is different than what the one v has. It looks more like current sense melded with ics, but who knows. HTC hasn't exactly done a bang up job explaining what's different.

The Inc3, Fireball has Sense 4.0 and that thing isn't even on te Rezounds level. Nor is it a One phone. I still expect 4.0, no hardware restrictions that i know of

If the Rezound doesn't get HTC 4.0, HTC will deservedly get an earful of complaints.

If the sensation doesn't get it, the rezound won't either. And we don't know what kind of specs the fireball has yet.

sense 4.0 had that fantastic in-car navigation setting that was demoed at MWC. i would really want to get that on the Rezound.

The only difference engadget could see was that there was less animations, and probably lighter weight processes.

Sorry to say, but it looks more and more likely the Rezound is going to get a watered down version that is sense 3.6. The Vivid's ics update has leaked, and it pretty much looks like a cross between 3.5 and 4.0, but with very little of the streamlining and flattening that 4.0 has. In fact, it basically looks like a slightly modified version of 3.6. Very disappointing...

I trust you man. And even if we don't get 4.0 it will only be a matter of time before some crafty dev gets ahold of it and puts in on the Rezound anyway....hell that scenario will probably happen before we officially get it anyway. HORRAAYYY FOR ROOTING!
