Ics confirmed for thunderbolt!

Sniff Sniff .. Sniff Sniff (wrinkles nose) I smell Bull Shat !:p

ICS is not coming to an end of life phone on VZW. First of all after HTC does a work up, then it needs to go through Verizon an they aren't going to go through the process for and EoL phone.

Nice try tho !

Anything is possible. I mean the Fascinate just got Gingerbread.

Ok this will probably be a stupid question, but I'm sort of an android noob.

Does the TB getting ICS mean that we will get Sense 4.0?

I don't understand how Sense is related to the operating system, and if the updates to the operating system affect sense.

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is the actual Android build that comes from Google. The device manufacturer's start with that build and then put their own UI enhancements on top of that: HTC (Sense), Motorola (blur/noblur), Samsung (Touchwiz). Currently the Thunderbolt has Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with Sense 2.1. Some of their other devices like the Rezound have Sense 3.5 which adds the homescreen carousel and other eye candy that isn't present in Sense 2.1. HTC could bring ICS to the Thunderbolt but your guess is as good as anyone else's on what version of Sense it'll be running.

It would be running Sense 2.1

Yeah it will probably be sense 2.1 since they said 3.0 was to much for the tbolt.

How could they use 2.1??? It would have to be a unique version of Sense. ICS has different/more features than Gingerbread. 2.1 was not designed to work with it.

No one knows for sure since a build hasn't even been confirmed. Just speculation as usual.

HTC should release ice cream sandwich without sense and they should make it downloadable from their site that way we can get it ourselves.

I don't get how we can't handle Sense 3.0 but that one with the light up dongle that is purple and single core can.

LOL...mental masturbation. Never ceases to amaze me that people just can't be happy with and for what they have. My unrooted TBolt is running great.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am happy with my TB whether we get the ICS or not. And if it released I just hope all the bugs are out of it. Everyone seems to always want the latest and "greatest". The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
I am glad I have a phone that works and does all I need it to do. I have no complaints. The bugs have been worked out of it. Wish I could get the bugs out of co-workers who can't seem to take inventory correctly........:-\

I can't wait for my face to unlock my Bolt!

I am surprised none of the 3rd party lock screen developers haven't already added this option.... Give Widget Locker developer some time, I wouldn't be surprised if they add this or something like this before the official ICS hits the TB.. :D

I agree but I really hope for a full functioning and stable version of Sense 3.5 but its starting to look like the developers has stopped development on a 3.5 build.. Even customizing of 3.5 has hit a wall..

I feel the stepchild moment.. :'( :p :D

I actually found a pretty cool app that uses your face to unlock. It doesn't unlock the phone, but rather locks different apps and utilizes your face to allow access. It's quite cool.

Visidon Applock. Check it out.

this probably means by the time Verizon gets it out it'll be the end of summer. This phone was great but I couldn't take the constant letdowns with updates. Verizon really messed up the Thunderbolt experience for me which is why I bought the nexus.

Still supporting you guys though, my gf has the phone still and so does the rest of my family  family of android heads :p

It's a week into 2012...jeez. Give it some time.

I did thats why its a week into 2012. I didnt ask where it was just simply seeing if there has been any "new" news as far as time table. Them saying early 2012 could very well be Nov. 2012. We all have seen how on par with time tables they have been. Last post about this was 12/20/2011 so last month
