Just wanted to share some newb comments. I'm by no means a hacker. I've never rooted my phone, nor I really wanted to. However, when Moto decided to release another Gingerbread bug fix, it made me worried that we will not see ICS for a while.
I used a tool available at XDA forum,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599234
it includes the root tool, OTA Vodoo Root keeper and ICS ROM. It was super easy to use, though it took ~3 hrs to complete. I also used a My Backup Pro to back up my applications.

I love it. I mean, it is not that the phone is just slightly faster. It actually now is a fully blown smartphone. Browser is a desktop like quality and you lapdock owners... you're up for a treat. The webtop emulates a tablet. None of that main screen/phone miniature nonesense anymore. I am totally loving my Lapdock 500. The boot up time also takes seconds now.
My battery life is awesome, some users reported glitches with battery levels reporting, I had nothing like that.
The only bug I noticed that I can not adjust the call volume when my phone is by my face. As soon as the proximity sensors deactivates, I can adjust the volume just fine. Not a huge deal to me.
The other bug I noticed is that I will never be able to go back to GB now. It is a HUGE deal to me.

Might help if you post a link to the "tool" you used.

You can still do it. Open the tool, unroot, restore .173, root, install vodoo, update su, bite in to ICS!!!

Looks like the updated release could in fact keep you from reverting back to .173 cause I went back to download and he has pulled the link due to this fact.

No. Its for anyone. You don't need to be on a previous leak. I was on rooted 181 gingerbread. Now I have the 84 ICS.... its for anyone and post 1 of that thread states that.

Just 1 side effect. If you do this 84 ICS leak, you can't go back to gingerbread or any other ROM. Your permanently married to this rom. Forever. Lol

P3Droid already tweeted he's gonna work on a SBF or rsd to get back to 744 or 173 or 181 stock or flashing previous backupa without bricking your phones.

That's why I was waiting on to hear back from that other link. He took it down cause people were not able to revert back to GB. If I'm not able to return back to complete stock then I'm not worrying about it. Official release should be here right around the corner and have no problem with Eclipses I'm on now.

Curious about the buttons at the bottom of the screen below the Verizon logo.

ICS doesn't always have the four buttons that earlier versions of Android had. Can someone post a pix of their Razar/Maxx running ICS? I want to see how the buttons are with ICS

you stated that its only for people with the previous leak. I said it stated otherwise. You then post the info I stated..... Its states that you must be on stock 181 build and NOT ON any other ROM/build. Ergo... it means its not for previous people who did the 75 build leak like you stated... (unless you flashed back to 173 build, updated to 181 build via Verizon OTA, unistalled Safestrap or Bootstrap recovery, and then did the NEW leak for 84 ICS build.) As for me, I was on 181 GB. Last night, I flashed 84 ICS build.. So, pure your original statement as it being only for previous ICS leak flashers, either my RAZR is a freak of nature or I just invented a new method. Per Droidrzr forums, im a normal user on 181 that just did a flash to 84 build.

I had 1 issue with bloatfreezer Pro, but that was because my superuser was no optimized at 0:0 on 3.0.3.2. It was on 0:2000 on 3.0.3.2. Probably cause I never updated SU during my root time on 744/174/181... but Titanium Backup fixed that in 10 seconds. Now Bloatfreezer works again. Now Im not having issues of any kind. Im loving this so much, I can honestly say that 84 may be the real official build. So Stable. No 3g/4g issues. no wifi no hotspot issues.. nada nada...

So Im not worried about the official ICS debuting in late May (if the Verizon OTA leak document is true). Im not worried about flashing back to 181 or 173 or the first 744 build... Mesa no worry about da Naboo... :D

Im more than confident that P3Droid or someone will make a SBF or RSD and fix the issue within the next 2-4, maybe 5 weeks. Someone always does on any make/model phone. History recalls that people who rooted the orginal EVO with S-OFF with a custom RUU were 10000000000% screwed and could not revert back to stock. Within weeks, someone fixed that issue.... So, again... Mesa have no worries.... its all about fun and doing new things and pushing your boundaries with Android. The true Google Experience...

Im just stating fact based on my personal experience. Im not forcing anyone to follow droidrzr.com's link method to get ICS. I understand and supprt your motion to wait for the official ICS. Im just giving my point of view and fact.

The bottom 4 buttons still work as normal DrDiff... search search. Back works like browser back button. Home takes you to home screen. and Menu pops-up menu. Here are your screen shots from mine. NOTE I usually run Go-Lanucher. But for the sake of ICS stock pics, I disabled GO before screenshoting (which btw is native on ICS---Volume Down+Power key for 3 seconds on any screen takes screenshot. No longer need root or apps. )

So I downloaded this to my phone and now it seems that neither my dolphin browser or stock browser want to play flash video. Any help is welcome.
