Ics official release today.

I know for fact the kernel can be made right now. I am going too go ahead a build stock kernel and then I will complie android os system and keep everyone informed as I finish each thing and will post download link once I have tested and comfirm its correct. I have 2 units here one is linux and other is windows. i will do my best with this .

I just like having two laptops at my desk . It makes my life easier. I started doing that when i got into making roms and kernel for samsung intercept for both VM and Sprint phones. Got my linux fired up time too get busy here.

Why not just dual boot?

Dual booting is good. But say you need windows.... well you have to stop and go into windows..... much easier to have 2 computers and a flash drive

Tommyjoe....Are you saying that you'll have a rom ready today? Or does it take a while? Or maybe a time frame you?

Projectpanda flashes reliably, it's backing up that's unreliable.

what about project panda cwm? i've heard thats working...i mean, ii havent followed it lately and havent bothered to install it due to no actual roms...but wouldnt that be a way to flash it?

Its seems there only one cell phone maker posting updates all the time too stay current or ahead of the game and that is HTC. I think LG should take a page out if there book and do a better job about taking care of there customers. It looks like there was a update on the radio band added too the open source based on I could found out and looking at these opensource codes.

Have you had any success building with the new source?

Hey Guys I am very sorry but this building from source is way over my head. ICS from source is alot harder and more advance than our current gingerbread. If I could get this made from source It would take alot coffee and time and as much love I have for this forum I can't do. So please in all respect I am not the person for the job. If someone needs tech help I will help out as always. Thank you for your understanding

I am just waiting for ota too roll out so i can system pull and start making ICS ROM. but, i am going too keep trying playing with the built from source and see I can get something too click. Thanks everyone for understanding

Tommy: why do you say too instead of to? Not a big deal,a lot of people on the site are not native English speakers. It is just funny because reading your posts for the past month, every time you do it is like being punched in the face.

Everyone: what is it about ICS that you want so bad that gingerbread doesn't do?

Ics has a multitude of more features. It has a global spellchecker, speeds up performance, switches from Linux kernel 2.7 to 3, added native support for USB devices, has a customizable launcher, merged widgets and apps within app drawer without need for root, when long pressing home, shows a thumbnail of the running app instead of just an icon, implemented a semi-global holo theme, set the default browser to chrome, added a tablet ui mode, and many more
