Will ICS have upgrades for current phones and tablets? ICS for HTC Incredible S? ICS for Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Tabs 10 and 7?
Well, when Gingerbread was released, it was two months before the Nexus One got it. That's why I'm wondering what the timeframe will be for the Nexus S or Wifi-only Xoom getting it.
I'd love to see the Nexus One get ICS, but I agree it's long in the tooth. But Apple can release iOS 5 on teh iPhone 3GS, which is the same vintage as the Nexus One....
True, but it's a crippled iOS 5. The 3gs never got multitasking, as far as I know. I could be very wrong on that. But do we want to run the risk of getting an inferior build of ICS on the N1 just to hold on to nostalgia?

The iPhone 4 runs with an underclocked processor running at 800 Mhz and is smoother than any build of Android due to hardware acceleration. If ICS has hardware acceleration I don't think it would be an inferior build for the N1. Phones don't need or currently utilize multiple cores, its seems the OEMs are trying to push tech and just to get smoother performance, to make up for the OS's shortcomings. If Google can bring hardware acceleration to the table 1 Ghz devices would handle ICS just fine.True, but it's a crippled iOS 5. The 3gs never got multitasking, as far as I know. I do hope ICS does have upgrades for current phones. My Photon 4G is not that old I hope it is able to receive the ICS upgrade.
Wrong. Blackberry has real multitasking, better than Android in my opinion.WE, The android owners are still the only ones that have REAL multitasking.
The 3GS did in fact get Multitasking back in iOS 4 and will get the full version of iOS 5 in 2 days.
The only thing I can see that could be "Inferior" on a N1 build is no Software Buttons and maybe a slow down
Don't say iCandy then Apple will lay claim to it, and sue Google for infringement, with the next Jelly Bean OS coming in the future.Srsly though, who cares? ICS is gonna blow iCandy out of the water, it's not like we are not already surpassing it constantly as it is![]()

Edit: The 3GS and the iPod 3rd Gen both got Apple's "multitasking". iPhone 3GS has a processor underclocked to 600 Mhz and a still competitive GPU. Thats how it keeps up.
CM8 will give the N1 ICS if Google doesn't first.
