I'm pretty new to this whole smart phone scene, so please bear with me. I keep reading that there is quite a hype about ICS (ice cream sandwich ?? ) From what I'm HTC/Sprint should be releasing it after the 1st of the year.

So.. WTF is it?

It is the latest version of Android. Lol, I think the devs and execs at Google have a sweet tooth and/or the munchies. Each version of Android is named after a dessert or something sweet and follows an alphabetical sequence. Like Eclair, Froyo (frozen yogurt), Gingerbread, Honeycomb (for tablets), and now Ice Cream Sandwich. I believe I read that the next will be Jelly Bean.

so i understand what it is, but what exactly is it gonna do different or new for our phones? specifically the 3d.

i think some people just hear the word "update" and start drooling without even knowing what the heck is gonna happen. 99% of the time updates are good things, sometimes they are not. what is this ICS supposed to do for us?
