I'd like to change my username for the phone.....but....

I'm afraid I will lose all the things associated with Google or sites that use the name I put in when I got the phone..correct? I don't care about my Gmail I can make another one of those, but what else will I lose if I do it? As long as I have the passwords for sites will I be OK there anyway or will there be a problem because the name doesn't match with the p/w?

This is one thing I regret doing when I got the phone, using a nickname instead of a 'real' name! <sigh>

Username for the phone? Or Google account? The username for the phone itself doesn't matter. If you change the username on the Google account in the phone you'll lose access to anything that uses the Google account (like updating apps you got from Play, your Drive account, your Google backup, etc.)

Thank you, you confirmed what I thought would happen. The name I need to change is the one in the Google Accounts sad to say.
