Hi!
I have a question, did anyone activate their Idol 3 on MetroPCS?
The reason I'm asking is that today I wanted to activate my phone on MetroPCS and the guy from the store said that there is no guarantee that the phone will work on the 4G LTE.
Opinions, suggestions welcome! Thanks!

I don't see why it wouldn't. MetroPCS uses Band 4 for LTE, which is supported by the Idol 3.

The Idol 3 absolutely supports Band 4. I'm using mine on T-Mobile, and it's sitting on Band 4 at this very moment.

Yes,you are right,it's working now for me also on LTE, apparently my APN was not set correctly. It took a few hours until all the setting where updated(I ported my number from Sprint)
What are your APN settings?

Apparently not ,this are the specs from your site Alcatel Idol 3 specs | Android Central no band 4.

There are different size Idol 3's, and they have different LTE band compatibilities. The Idol 3 with the 4.7" screen doesn't have Band 4, so the AC article is correct. See the specs here as well: Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3 (4.7") specs

However, the Idol 3 with the 5.5" screen does have Band 4: Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3 (5.5") specs. No idea why they made them different, but there you go.

I had to go to my local MetroPCS store and the girl set up my APN correctly after like 10-15 minutes. It works fine. The connectivity isn't as good as my Nexus 5 tho..

According to alcatel's website the idol 3 4.7 supports lte bands 2/4/5/7/12/17 so it should work fine

Is there any place to check the exact specs?.. Links to gsmarens or phonearena may NOT be 100% correct.

Just want to say my idol 3 4.7" works great and has as good LTE reception as my old LG G2, running on cricket wirless network (which is a much better deal and network than metroPCS)

I use Idol 3 (5.5") with no problems. Annoyed by the fact a Metro employee must activate it, so self-serve options to activate don't exist. Otherwise it performs well on the Metro/T-Mobile network.
