Hey all I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem, I'm using a htc one M8 and have never had any problems upto now, I use the ie program alot and I usually leave it with 3 or 4 tabs open but recently I've noticed that it closes these tabs by itself! so I could have the phone on, have three tabs for different sites open, go back to home and turn the phone off come back later and reboot, goto ie and there is only one tab open!

Doesn't happen all the time I could do this for weeks and have no problem then sudden it's back to just one tab, anyone else have this or know why it might do this?

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, what do you mean by IE? Internet Explorer is a Microsoft browser that's only available on Windows desktops. Are you talking about the stock browser app, or Chrome?

You mentioned turning the phone off and rebooting -- "rebooting" means that you powered the phone off and then restarted it. That would clear out any tabs that the browser app was open to.

I mean the stock browser that comes with the M8, if I open say three tabs, close the browser and power off the phone then come back a few hrs later the tabs are usually still there, but recently at random times the phone is powered up the tabs got from three that are still there to just one, this never used to happen when I first had the phone.

Are you completely powering off the phone, or only putting the screen to sleep? If you completely power off the phone, that will completely close all apps from RAM, so that when you power the phone back on, you're starting from scratch.

turning the phone off, via hold the power button to get the option scren up and turn it off from there, until recently the browser tabs would always stay on what ever number I had open even when I powered back up,guess I'll have to put up with it

That's odd -- I'm not aware of any browser that behaves that way (i.e., remembers which tabs were open after you completely power off the phone).

I think HTC discontinued their stock browser and no longer support it. Use Chrome instead.
