If i delete the data on the phone app will i lose all my contacts?

My phone say phone's not working when I try and make a call or get my messages. If I delete data from the phone app will I lose my phone contacts and my recent calls?

Nope, you'll probably lose call history data, though. BUT if you have that backed up to your Google account, then that should re-sync eventually.

If you delete Contact Storage, then yeah, Contacts are purged from your phone (but, again, if they're synced to your Google account or other cloud location, then they come back when they are re-synced).

It is if you chose to save contacts locally and not to a cloud account. In any case, that does tie to your local copy of the contact list, even if it's saved in a cloud account (your local copy just syncs to it when a contact is added/modified, but there's always a local copy of the list regardless).
