If I find my phone after filing an insurance claim on it, can I still use it?

I am curious. if I filed a lost/missing claim on a phone and received a new phone from assurant and i find the phone later can i still use/sell the phone ??

Welcome to Android Central! When I did this with Asurion a while ago with an older phone, it was emphasized to me that if the lost phone was found, I had to send it to them. It'd be worth reading the fine print of the Asurion terms of agreement. I wonder if when you make the claim, they can figure out the lost phone's IMEI, and maybe flag it. In any case, trying to sell it just would not be an upstanding thing to do. Probably best to throw it in a closet somewhere (in case you need it for spare parts later), or just send it to Asurion.

I have a friend who used to work for tmobile and he said that assurant previuosly asurion will only track the phone for a few weeks . Then i can return the lost but now found phone and have it taken off sim card lock or black list just by giving them my info and being the original owner. Anyone have any input on that.
