If I oem unlock can i get updates faster?

I have the Galaxy Note 5 At&t model and I recently turned on developer mode. In the options for developers I found a button which makes the phone oem unlocked. I don't know how that would work exactly so could someone explain that to me, along with telling me: if I do the oem unlock will I get android 6.0 marshmallow as samsung has already released android marshmallow for their unlocked phones but AT&T still has yet for it to come out. Thanks!

No. You will have to wait until the update is released for the AT&T model.
