Android Central Question

Samsung Music has suddenly stopped and won't open. I'm getting a disable battery optimizer message. But I can't change it, so was going to Uninstall, then reinstall. Will my music from various apps be deleted?

I dont use Samsung music app but try this , long press the icon them tap info >scroll to battery >toggle battery optimization off ?
Or go to settings and at the top type optimized battery then tap it >choose all apps then go down the list to Samsung music to toggle off battery optimized.

I don't even have Samsung Music app on my Samsung devices. I use Poweramp Pro for locally stored music files that are FLAC and WAV format.

Welcome to Android Central! Uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung Music app won't affect any of your own music. If you saved your own music tracks to the phone for the Music app to play, then those files will remain unaffected in the directory where they were saved. If you're streaming music from a service, then that music will still be available on that streaming service.

Before uninstalling the app, you might also try going to Settings>Apps, selecting Samsung Music, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data, and then Force Stop. Now open it again and see if the problem persists.

Always a good idea to have a backup of all your music off the phone anyway. I have copies on my laptop, tablet, car radio USB memory button and PMP.
