So my GPS is fixed on my G5, but LG damaged the module chin with several scratches and chips and the area around the charging port is missing paint. One of the corners also has a dent. I think the GPS module is part of the chin and they could have damaged taking it apart but I'm actually wondering if they sent me someone else's chin because this chin sits very even on both sides and mine had a minor gap. It suppose it is possible they are able to adjust the gap.

So I called to complain and the first response was to mail the phone back. I told them no way was I going to do without a phone for another 2 weeks. The LG rep wouldn't budge but I asked to speak to a supervisor....never got one. Then the rep was going to have me send a picture but in the end she agreed to escalate the issue and put in a request for a replacement chin.

Hope they do the right thing because they really soured me enough that I'm discouraged from buying the V20 but I really kind of like it and hate that happened. My phone was pristine and this affects my resale value should I decide to sell.

Looks bad in the pictures too lol. I'd be pissed if I got any pushback from them about replacing it hopefully they ship you out a new one immediately

They probably fix these in batches because they have a known GPS issue and I ended up with someone else's module.

Yea that has to be what happened. I don't even know how they could jack it up that badly just working on it and if they did that to one in good condition they'd have to know they'd need to replace it. They probably didn't because that's how it looked when it arrived and just sent you the wrong one.

That looks like ****. And to be honest how can a company that cares at all send something like that back to a paying customer?

They might have thought it was the one that came in with the device. I figure they are not required to give you a new one if it looked like that when it came in.

Was this a one time issue or were most G5 phones having GPS problems?

I got the right phone....wrong module. Probably worked on a few at the same time and mixed up the modules.

So they didn't mess up your phone. They sent back the wrong module. So why don't you edit the post?? And why are you posting this in the V20 forum?? Who cares if you don't buy a V20?? Post in the G5 room.

I'm interested in how LG handles it as well since I've never had to deal with their customer service yet. They've had some hardware issues in the past so it's a possibility I'll have to deal with them at some point. Take it down a notch forum guardian.

Just a point of perspective from the G4 side of things, this sounds like an isolated issue. From all the people saying they sent in G4's for the bootloop, most of their exchange and repair experiences went pretty well.

Just use Google....lots of issues.....its ok they will make good. It was their initial response that was unacceptable.

Read the post.....I sent it on for repair and it came back with someone else's badly damaged module. If that's not messing up my phone I don't know what is. Not sure what I need to edit since in think I spelled it all out.
I posted in this room and the G5 room, but here for a different reason. You don't have to agree with my post. Ultimately I will probably buy the V20 and if you don't care that's OK.
