False advertisement, plain and simple. They didn't ship the pre-orders in the claimed time. That's illegal. Period.

That and the fact that i've been seeing people saying that they ordered it after the 7th (some people on 10th, 11th and 12th) that their nexus 7's are out for delivery today.

So not only did they screw over the people who pre ordered early, but gave an advantage to those who pre ordered even LATER than we did.

I would think the damages would be the 2-day shipping charge.

Okay but what are your damages. If you intend to file a civil lawsuit against someone you need to have damages... what are yours? You cant just arbitrarily sue someone for doing something illegal. That is what the criminal justice system is for.

I've seen a report of someone who ordered Friday (No longer a preorder at that point) already receive their Nexus 7. That means preorders were not filled before non-preorders. This is also unacceptable and I'm sure illegal.

I'm fairly sure there is a restocking fee. And I don't have a spare 300$ to float for a month while its credited on top of another 300$ to go buy retail. That is not an acceptable solution. Google needs to get on the ball not me.

Technically google has until the end of tomorrow for their 3 weeks if you ordered on the 27th.... So all I see here is you're being a baby and can drive to the store. Google said 2-3 weeks for shipments and that is it. I would have loved mine last week but today will be fine by me.

There is no restocking fee for a refused package. I am not arguing about whether they should do some good gesture compensation, but the suggestion of a lawsuit is ludicrous.

WRONG. Stop using a month old date as a reference. They said this FRIDAY all orders would be out within 3 business days, as well as there phone system says all orders will be out by the 17th. They are out of time. Period. Stop trying to defend them, your out of excuses. And I already explained why I can't run out to the store.

Not that anyone cares but I went to Staples like I said I would. They had 2 16GB's left in stock (only got 4 in initial stock) now there's 1 left. I took the bad boy home and set it to charge. Had to go back to work so I'll check it out tonight. Oh sweet relief.... now I can quit b*tchin' about not receiving my pre-order.

You dont need to force ur opinion onto someone else, if they want to do something, let them. And I agree with cbatiste1993, its easy to tell someone one thing while you havent experienced it. Also their automated message did say that orders would be shipped out in 3 days starting from Friday.

If you are coming here to argue about an opinion that someone has please save yourselves the time and just dont post on this thread.

If Yamagushi says hes gonna smash his Nexus 7 with a hammer, yeah I think its a waste of money, but then again its what he wants to do, its his money...Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

At the time i posted it, the message at the top said "We're now shipping Nexus 7 preorders. All US and Australia preorders are scheduled to ship by July 17th. UK and Canada preorders have also begun shipping in waves."

They have since changed it to say MANY US and Australia orders

Yeah, I just noticed that, as well. What's next? "SOME US and Australian orders might ship someday soon, perhaps." ??

I'm bummed, too, I was looking forward to playing with it this weekend, and that looks unlikely now. I absolutely want it by next weekend, as I'm on vaca for a week and that would be the perfect time for a little Nexus geekery.

That said, I am a little surprised at how much people are up in arms about this. Certainly this hasn't been the best shopping experience, I definitely expected better from Google. And, you know the Cupertino crew is laughing their butts off right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a little something extra beyond the $25 credit in order to get some good will back. A free case, maybe? Some Google Drive space to compensate for the (relatively) limited storage? I dunno.

What I do know is this, though. It's just a product.

It really doesn't warrant the level of vitriol that is being spewed around the intertubes. It's just a product. And, it will arrive. And, you are no more or less cool if it arrives today or tomorrow or next Wednesday. You are less cool, though, the more you whine.
