If Sprint decides to cut back on unlimited data

As that Hess dude said that they will not discount the idea of doing so, does that mean the $10:00 add on for the Epic will go away? Ya right eh. I read somewhere that Sprint might (depending on how much traffic increases on the network) that they might decide to "tier" data as att and verizon have done?? Gimme a break. Although I don't use a whole lot of data, one of the reasons I got the Epic is so that I have unlimited data available on 4G. Of course if they did so then this would mean a "change of contract" which means that we could opt out of Sprint (within 30 or 60 days or so) with NO fees levied against us. But dang, I like the Epic and the unlimited plan. Still, I would really have to think hard and long on this one. But of course nothing yet is etched in stone as to which way Sprint is gonna go. Ug... What will you do if they put a limit on the unlimited 4G data?

Even if Sprint does radically change its plans, your current plan will not be affected. I've never seen Sprint forcibly change someone's plans like that - I mean, there are still people rocking the old SERO plan.

your current plan could be affected. they can throttle without breaking contract as this has already been established by ISPs. they probably would let you out of etf to avoid being used.

I am sure the core issue is the tethering, really some people, a tiny percentage could be pulling 200gb am month. lets face it some people cancel their home internet connections and just use tethering. some people also live off of torrents pulling down content 24/4. combine those two "usages" and you get a small number of people pulling 100x more data than the average user. think about torrents and 4g, that could really be 500x average usage.

i made the sad, sick and sorry mistake of switching to at&t for the iPhone 4 shortly after I bought an EVO. one of the things that prompted me to return to Sprint was the unlimited data. even tho I do not use my phones internet as my primary source of internet there is a certain security knowing you have 5gb to use and not just a mere 2gb. I'm not sure if I would switch carriers either. right now Sprint dominates as far as billing goes and everyone else's prices are just crazy

If you have an epic or Evo, you do not have a cap at all.

If you willing to stand out in your back yard for good 4G service then yes. ;)

I get 4g inside my house and at work in a good sized office building. Not everyone gets that I realize but I would assume the coverage would only get better.

Yeah I'm just being silly. ;) Though it is true that I get much better connection in my back yard than inside my house here in the NW burbs of Chicago. I believe there's new tower coming online soon so it's all good.
