If the Note 7 uses removable battery, Samsung doesn't need to issue a recall, right?

Samsung reversed course and brought the MicroSD card slot back on the Note 7.
If they did the same with the removable battery, there is no need to issue a worldwide
recall on the Note 7, right? All they need to do is to ship out free new batteries to
every registered Note 7 owner. (which probably saves them hundred of millions of
dollars.. or trillions or Korean Won? :) )

Or am I wrong? Is the exploding battery cause by more than just the battery itself?

The issue could be caused by a bad battery, bad logic in the power management circuitry, bad components in the PM circuit, a bug in the software or a manufacturing flaw.

We have no idea which may be an issue.

Here we go with the removable battery. It's never going to come back. A non removable battery is better because you know you arent getting any plastic cheap phone.

If Samsung had only opened their ears for a few seconds, they would have heard that the only thing keeping people from ordering the 7 without even knowing the price was the lack of a removable battery.

They fixed the lack of an SD card - maybe the 8 (9? 10?) will have both the card and a removable battery. Changing the battery is trivial - but opening the phone voids all warranties.

And, as Jerry said, the problem might not be with the battery. (You can get nice fireworks from a perfectly good lithium battery. Which airline blew up the everglades [a big chunk, anyway] because of an inherent problem with lithiums?) I think Jerry left out the charger too. There have to be some problems you can cause in the charger that will overheat the battery.

This sucks
Sorry but it does
Life goes on but I never ordered wanted to wait it out and now I'm like ugh

It's "pick a phone that's almost the one you wanted, but leaves a large hole, or choose a phone you never wanted. I'd order the 7 now if the battery were removable (and the problem were in the battery or something else I could replace easily). But hot pants? I'll wait a while.

Yes they would, it would be a recall on all batteries everywhere, complete with a battery shortage.

The type of battery does not dictate plastic or metal phone or how cheap it is.

Question. How was sales between the Note 4 & 5. Did it increased because of the Premium build?

As the old argument goes, what's the difference if one is just going to Case it up.

As long as it's Waterproof, has microSD and Wireless Charging I don't really care anymore.
