If you think the front screen is too small

With my S22 Ultra and Z fold 4 side by side, I couldn't help but wonder what a Z Fold would look like if the front screen was the same as S22 Ultra and interior screen essentially two S22 ultra screens side by side

Then I wondered what if they did that, and then used curved edges on the front screen like the Note, err S22 Ultra has... I can just see the complaints then :D But I would definitely be all over that, even knowing how bulky THAT would be. Ahahahaha

Now that sounds so bulky it would be unusable.

I find myself using the cover screen alot more with the zfold4 as apposed to the zfold3. It just seems more usable.

I personally think the cover screen is just right… I mean it’s just that…a cover screen. I just don’t use it like a regular phone. I use it to check messages emails browse YouTube channels but when I eventually want to indulge and get into some serious phone using, I open it up.

If the phone gets wider everything just gets bigger just defeats the purpose of a foldable phone.

I do find it easier to type on the front display on the Zf4 than the 3.
I would love to see it a little wider personally. I wish the front display would mimic the inside display. Pain to have to manage 2 of them.

I don't have the Fold 4, but I'm certain I have seen YouTube videos detailing a setting to have the cover mimic the inside screen...

Edit- I looked it up, and it is under Home Screen -> Cover screen mirroring

The option it gives it to mirror the smaller front screen to the larger second display. I want to do the opposite. I spend more time and effort setting-up the second display. I want to mimic to the outside display.

I do to, I had to just set up the front screen separately

I just want to see the rollable screen phone come to life. That way you get the large main screen and a wide secondary.

LG showed off a very cool prototype rollable phone that went from a midsize to an almost double width screen. It was a very pocket friendly size rolled up, including thickness, but a small tablet size unrolled. Unfortunately that was not long before they closed down their phone division.

Samsungs version just seems to be a screen that rolls out enough to give you an edge panel to work with, but no true major increase in the usable size of the screen. I hope they bring something different to market.

People think the folds out now are fragile, I can't imagine rollable screens being anything but fragile.

I think we'd be trading screen issues at the fold for mechanism failures and dirt ingress. But I think in the end the screens might hold up better not being continually creased. It'll be interesting to see how the 2 technologies develop.

I do think it will be interesting to see the two technologies develope. Everything has a failure rate, folding screens are no different. So far they seem to be doing ok.
