For those with Youtube video issues under Lollipop, try this posted over at https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79316 -

1) Go to Developer options and disable nu player
2) Don't leave the youtube app while a video is open. First close the video and then leave the app.

I've been trying this and it seems to keep the error from recurring - I can go in and out of YouTube, playing videos successfully. IMDB app also continues to play video.

I was wondering why they would have this "experimental" media player be on by default. This is a good troubleshooting step to remember for those on Lollipop!

Fix? Have yet to see official acknowledgement from Google that the problem exists.
