IHO Idle Battery Use

From my experience MAPS sucks my battery down like you wouldn't believe! Any time I use it I make sure to force close it (long press BACK) when I'm done otherwise I get a 5-10% drain each hour!

This morning I got up about 8am and unplugged and checked my phone. My dad's battling cancer so I'm always paranoid about getting a call from him during the night and since I'm a very deep sleeper there's a good chance it may not wake me up! Anyway I had a 100% charge at 8am.

We had to be somewhere by noon so about 10:30am I hopped in the shower. Again I grabbed my phone to have it close by 'just in case' and it still showed 100%! After I got out of the shower I checked it again.. it dropped to 99% by this time!

I spent the afternoon and evening with my g/f's family for a birthday party for her nephew. I used the phone to research some things we were talking about and to find some pictures of my nieces to show off... take some pictures and I even texted with dad for a bit. Towards the end of the night I was doing some light browsing to read the news and stuff while things were winding down. Right now it's six minutes to 10pm and I'm still at 77%. I think 23% during a 14 hour period is pretty good!

I've stretched my battery three days before before charging it but I usually do charge it every night. Even with a lot of heavy usage the lowest I've ever seen it get after a full day is 23% and that included probably 60 minutes of voice and several hours of games/surfing/texting while my dad was in for tests, etc....

And this is with IHO.

I've noticed some governors still bounce around frequencies, even on idle; namely interactive/X & Smartass. OnDemand doesn't really have this issue so I'm gonna stick with that for now. Conservative might be good for people who have their min values above 245.

To me there is a definite drain, but it could be the bloatiness of CMod or some inefficiency somewhere. Stock doesn't drain as bad, even with TWS close to 50% (in my experience).

Sorry I'm late getting back to this thread. The non-helpfulness of most of the replies turned me off. I'm happy to report I've isolated the cause of the high idle battery usage for me. Simply disabling Bluetooth gives me graphs like this:

Whether or not anyone is "motivated" enough to look at this is not in my control :) This is an adequate workaround for me. It sucks, but I can deal with it.

Perhaps if you donated to Blarf, he might be "motivated" to help you. After all, you are attempting to use a ROM that is a WIP, and has red letter warnings that it could brick your phone, for your business needs.

That's a great attitude. Threaten that the only way things will get fixed is to pay money for free software.

I don't have a problem donating to the devs that put their hard work into this stuff (I already do that). I DO have a problem with arrogant jerks who have no desire to help.

Good day, I'm done with this thread.
