Long time lurker here, I've been a member since 2011, but haven't had much to say. Just been keeping abreast of mobile changes etc.

Last December my wife was ready to move back to a smart phone, and she wanted me to make the pick. Up front she stated no iPhone, due to being such a PIA to use at work. Long story short, I got her the LG G3 - she really really liked it, and I was impressed with it as well. She wanted to take my phone & let me take the upgrade, I said nope I'll wait and see what comes out in 2015.

I have been rocking a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD, for 2.5 years (almost 3 years, Yea long time)!! It has been pretty solid for the most part, but after the last KitKat updates, and reset - it was still pretty laggy, time to upgrade.

My short 2015 list was the M9, S6, and G4. I wanted to see a G4 leather in person before committing, my local Verizon store had none, but I was able to see one in another city. The downside my local store could not order a leather clad G4, WTH really?? So, I got online had troubles trying to transfer upgrades - but Verizon offer a Edge upgrade BAM, I went that route. Got the phone in 2-days, actually 3 as FedEx wouldn't leave at the door etc. etc.

This is day-5 with the black leather G4, also with a clear i-Blason cover (nekked at home). For now I'm a happy happy camper!! There have been a couple of small items nothing worth losing any sleep over. But light years ahead of my preview Razr, thus I should be good for a while.

Pros--
1. I'm liking the back buttons (clean layout).
2. Great Camera.
3. Bigger 5.5 screen vs. 4.7 before.
4. Snappy response.
5. of course battery & SD setup + bonus from LG.
6. Bluetooth interfaces nicely w/ my Garmin Fenix 3.

Cons--
1. Not happy about Verizon removal of various software.
2. Verizon bloatware.

Glad you like it! There is a few issues that you may or may not notice with continued use but rest assured there are bugfixes coming within the next month or so. It's really a killer device and I'm sure it will serve you well.

Is there an update? Do you have an article link (I must have missed this). I am curious and want to read it :D.

Nope just from people on here that have spoken to customer support. Then again maybe I shouldn't have jumped the gun because it was T-Mobile that said that there are some updates coming soon, not Verizon.

Ah okay. I was just curious since I have the International Model so I believe I would see them then once the carriers do their stuff you guys would receive the update as well. Unless the issues are caused by carrier software then I could see me not getting an update.

I love seeing positive post. I love the phone. I have experienced a little lag in the OS, but nothing severe. Fantastic device. Couldn't be happier.

Ditto here. Love the phone. I could nitpick and wish for 6 hours of SOT, but really no major complaints.

I'm a happy camper myself after 2 return phones. One for dead pixels the other for touch issues.

But I knew eventually I would land a perfect one.

Good on you for having the patience. I wouldn't have even made it past the first lemon. I'm weird like that.

My first unit was bad, (restarting, heating, bad battery, ) got my replacement and i live happily ever after

GFour

I've had some issues related to adding accessories that were easily abated. With that said, the G4 is the best overall phone I have ever used and I've used all the current flagships. I honestly believe the G4 is perfectly tuned for the 808, it never struggles or throttles. Playing DeerHunter is a whole new experience (so smooth). The display is as good as the best (bright and vibrant without Disney saturation). The color accuracy is the most accurate I've seen on a cell phone. The 5.5" display occupies pretty much the whole size of the phone which almost makes it feel like you're only holding a display. The slight curve of the display and the curve of the back of the phone create a very ergonomic (comfortable) feel. The camera is undoubtedly the best currently in a cell phone, not only can it can take great automatic pictures, it can take and produce pictures that simply cannot be taken by any other cell phone camera. Between the exclusive exposure options, hardware and being able to shot raw, the G4 stands alone. The double tap and separate home screen wallpapers are good examples (among many) of the really nice UI. The 2.0 fast charge works great even using a 2amp Samsung charger. I ordered the wireless chip set ($15) for the leather back and should soon have overnight wireless charging. I'm grateful to get the only new flagship with a removable battery and microsd. Not to mention the two SD cards equalling 160gb, extra battery and wall charger thrown into the deal. There is nothing like being able to recharge the phone in seconds (on the fly) . Also, it is so nice to go to a family function or a party and take a half hour HD video and not sweet about memory. I really like the fact that I can also store every picture I ever took securely on my phone and not on a cloud. Again, the G4 (for me) is the best phone I have ever used and I feel confident I will get great use out of it. Time will tell!
