Im about to give up, do you guys have anymore suggestions?

Fair enough. I had to at least ask since I've been curious since your first thread on battery life. I feel like you should definitely get a tablet of some kind. You could get get a Nook Color for 250 and mod the heck out of that. Should give you something to play with that gets decent battery life.

And an update from earlier today:
41% remaining (still 61% of that Display)
Up Time: 7:56
Awake Time 1:42

So based on this, I'd say the first 10-20% of the battery draining is definitely faster than the rest. I think I may try the Juice Defender I see a lot of people talking about.

Also, where did HTC say it should get 6.3 hours of Awake Time?

i did that and i went from 4hr to only getting 2 1/2 hrs. Glad it worked for you others please try.

Today im using wifi and it looks like im getting better battery so far not much but a little...

That's weird, when I had it in the default mode I was getting horrible life.. my phone was hot to the touch from switching from 3g/4g/1X all the time. When I switched to LTE mode, it just stayed in 4G the entire time..

It says usage 6.3hrs usage should be awake time cant use it when screen is off.

I was thinking about a ipad2 but was trying to not have to lug 2 things around. Laptops are just to big and run to hot for me.

I really think its just a defect on the phone or a software issue? But i only got 14 days so not much i can do.

I think the main thing your missing is what Rem stated. It is 6.3 hours of talk time. The screen isn't on while you're talking and as we have all seen the screen is the biggest user of battery. You're trying to take their spec for talk time and equate it to "all use" when they have never stated that.

As a test, on the weekend (when its free) why don't you charge your phone up and place a call to a 1-800 number with a recording. Set something in front of the screen simulating your face so the screen goes off and let it go. My guess is that your "awake time" is darn close to the 6.3 hours they claim.

it says usage not talk time

usage is use

copy from site below

Battery
Usage: 378 mins OR
Standby: 330 hours

if it said talk time fine but it says usage

I for one appreciate the step by step to disable the blockbuster app - I've been reading a lot of threads about doing this but no one explained how to do this (I'm new to androids). You guys rock!

This is a great place to be for everything Android and more!

I never opened the bb app and my battery went down to 90% after over 3 hours. I haven been installing appa, using Plume, setting emails accounts, three phone calls, using facebook, etc.

***HEY GUYS JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE, IVE CRACKED THE CODE!***

Ok so I took my phone off the charger at 10 am. It is now 930 pm and I still have 38% battery life. MUCH better than what I was getting yesterday. I think I was down to 38% after three hours yesterday!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE, THIS IS WHAT I DID:

-Put screen on auto brightness
-Dont use any widgets that use data and update. (Friendstream, facebook ect)
-Only account I sync was facebook, twitter, weather, and google account. I update twitter every 15 minutes, facebook every hour and weather every 6 hours.
-Take blockbuster update off
-Turn gps and bluetooth off. Only toggle them on when you need them.

There are the two things that I did that made the most improvement:
-Install juice defender and use the default setting.
-TURN OFF 4G!

Turning off 4G made the biggest improvement for me. Im right on the fringe of 4G and 3G and it kept switching back and fourth. Im convinced that was KILLING my battery.

I hope these tips work for you guys. My battery was AWESOME today after I made these changes. I'm on my 11th hour right now with moderate use from 10-5 and HEAVY use from 5-930.

I was thinking about taking this phone back but its been a champ today.

how long was your screen on for i bet only 2-3hrs...

Im not sure how to tell that but yea, I would imagine it would be somewhere around 3 hours. You say "only" but I think 3 hours is actually pretty normal or even high.

If you have your screen on for more than 3 hours then your just asking for crappy battery life. Nothing you can do to improve that then to turn the backlight completely off.

I tested the battery over the course of this weekend. I don't have hard numbers, but between waking up and going to sleep, on Saturday I had tons of battery left by the end of the day on WiFi (still green battery) but on Sunday on pure-3G I had to charge the device 2/3 of the day in. I used my device much more on Saturday and despite that the battery drain was very tolerable than on Sunday when I hardly used it.

I tried swapping into CDMA auto PRL mode so that the device doesn't bother looking for a 4G signal, but that didn't help at all.

Yes, the device has high specs that work the battery harder, but the 3G radio, even when stationary, is killing the battery faster than anything else. I did not even leave the general area around my house yesterday and I still had drops to 1X and even a complete loss of 3G signal at times even though I wasn't moving around more than a hundred feet at a time, and my house has always had solid 3G. I also highly doubt they are anywhere close to rolling out 4G in my area as it is in the middle of suburbia with no major markets, so I don't think 4G testing is the cause of the loss of signal.

Please prove me wrong, other users in 3G-only areas.

I turned off 4G all togethor and have been getting MUCH improved battery life with just 3G and great speeds...
