I have spent hours trying to do & cannot figure it out. Every other phone has been a breeze, now I have a droid which I paid 500$ for and I am ticked off

I took some photos of my mom in her nursing home(I am in a legal case) have been taking them since June & every
other phone you just put in your data cable and your able to upload them to your picture file on your PC. Not on this *(&^%$ phone. and Picassa sisNO help. I have tried 10 times to upload them to it, I even tried emailing the pics to my gmail.
I guess I can only receive mail, I did a practice email to myself & it never showed up, so basically the gmail on the phone is useless too.

Isn't there a SIMPLE & EASY way to do this??? I need those pictures. Taking out the card is a HUGE issue because I have a rubber case on this phone that took hours to stretch on

HELP ME PLEASE:p:(:(:(:(:(:(:(Thanks

The pic's are most likely on the internal storage. You have to change the camera app settings to save them to the SD card. Download Astro or one of the other free File managers from the Market. Look for a directory called DCIM on the phones internal storage. You should be able to copy them to the SD card and then access them from your PC.

Hope this helps!

You should be able to plug in your data cable and just use it as a storage device like any flash card.

If you can not than perhaps your drivers are not installed. try this :
Go to Settings>applications>development>USB debugging mode, make sure it is checked

plug in your phone and let it set up the drivers this may take a minute.

after it is done, unplug and again Settings>applications>development>USB debugging mode but uncheck it

after plug cable in again, slide down the notification bar and select USB connected and choose to mount your SD card

then go to your task bar on your computer and hit the start button, select "My computer" or "computer" depending on your windows version

from here you should see your phones SD card visable

double click on that drive, then look for the folder
DCMI
in this folder you should see a camera file with all your pictures available
just copy them anywhere in your computer that you choose

from now on if the drivers have been installed, everytime you plug in , just drag down notification bar, hit USB connected and mount and you are good to go.

if by chance when you went into debugging mode it did not set up drivers download them here:

If you need them right away, connect to wifi, and email them to yourself from your gmail account on the phone. Wifi so it wont take forever to send.

I do belong to photobucket, I would I use it with the captivate? thanks

yeah I tied wifi and it shows my access name for my wireless but it never did anything but attempt to access wifi over & over again.

Go to the market and find it or you can use app brain
Photobucket Mobile - Android app on AppBrain

you can set it up to auto sync your pictures directly to the site, i dont really like that option because it leaves my pictures public if i dont have it set right. or you can choose the upload function and bam photo's are in the clouds ready for retrieval

was the instructions on the USB cable helpful?

hope this info helps you

quick problem. I did download photobucket mobile but my sign in name(had this account forever)
has a _ between the two names. How do I find that on my droid keyboard? thanks
it won't let me sign in.

if you are using Swype
hit SYM button, and it is to the right of 3

if you are using android keyboard
hit ?123 button
then hit ALT button
it will be in second row, fourth from the left

You guys rock. Just wanted to point that out

I completely agree...

I've seen some replies that critcize the grammer, spelling, and the level of competence when someone is just asking for help. The patience demonstrated by the true experts is greatly appreciated and not "thanked" often enough.
