Yeah that's a good idea. Then if I did that I'd have to find it somewhere else bc B&H is out of the 64g models in black, blue and Pearl. I hate that two as it would easiest to stay with B&H. I want to keep it long term this time as I'm hoping honor will not stop updating the phone all together like I've read on XDA site. Plus since I've had the blue and black already I really wanted the Pearl color this time around but if I get it at B&H where it's cheapest I'll have to get it in 32g again. It's too high on Amazon to me compared to what Jet and B&H was selling them for. Who knows I may just keep the black one I have and be done with it but my favorite color is blue then Pearl next. So if I exchange it'll be for the Pearl color one.

I'll try and find it. Just as a note I created my own thread over on XDA and I've had several responses all indicating that the honor will indeed be receiving more updates.
This makes me hopeful! Still not gonna count my chickens before they hatch

That's a good sign, that others on XDA-Developers are saying that it would continue to get updates. Oreo as as a final update is excellent ,i would not be complaining if it got oreo as even Google phones at this time were only guaranteed two years updates which this phone got, assuming it gets oreo. Of course updates were slower and less frequent than Google, but honor already said that up front

Yeah but I definitely wasn't planning on it at all. The $500 dollar gift card presented itself and I happen to need internet and cable and it all the sudden the opportunity was there out of nowhere. A deal I couldn't refuse if it all works out today. I've definitely been wanting to get back to Apple but for cheap. This is my only chance to do that now so I'm definitely taking it. Otherwise I'd stay with honor. I had no idea this would have ever even presented itself to me but now that it has everything has changed.

Why not get the iPhone 8 Plus as the large phone and keep the honor 8 as the small one?

I agree. $500 gift card is a lot of money. Just make sure you are ok with the terms... Don't want to get stuck with some term that you don't like

If dconn ever gets bored of apple UI, he can go back to Android and start customizing his phone.
I doubt I will ever get bored but you never know. If I do then I'll end up buying the Mate 9 with that gift card money as I love the size of the regular iPhone. The 4.7 feels so good in one hand which it's totally a one handed device. I do want it as my daily driver but I could see myself possibly still getting the mate 9 though. That is if I don't get an iPad which is doubtful as of right now but if I'm able to afford both then all definitely grab the mate 9 for sure.
