I'm getting non stock emoji images on Verizon Message + app, how do I remove them?

Hi,

I have a Verizon Samsung Note 5.

The Samsung texting app works fine.......The Verizon one does also BUT:
Emoji images appear which should not be there.

It seems that Samsung's emojis are being "borrowed/used" by Verizon Messages +.

Can anyone help me with this?
