I'm having 2nd thought on jumping to EVO from iPhone

Mobile Me isn't free, and Google Calendar/Contacts is far more open.

I never said it was free, I said it was a *better* solution. Also, the only free calendar sync is one calendar. additional calendars on google required a paid service.

Google also doesn't play well with his Apple address books, either, causing constant duplication and corruption. Google's address books also don't have the same field data, for instance one name field, compared to first/last/middle/prefix/suffix/etc, which again cause corruption of data.

It's unfortunate, but the best solution for him on a Mac, is using native mac tools, or as I said CardDAV/CalDAV servers (which the iPhone supports)

It's one problem I'm going to be facing myself, as I want to go to the EVO. I'm really hoping those two standards will be implemented in 2.2, ultimately.
