So I tried to manually update to Jelly Bean and after I put the file on my external SD card, I disconnected my S3 from my computer and when I went to put it into the stock recovery mode (or whatever its called, where you use the volume keys to pick an option) and when I do that, a screen comes up saying "Warning A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to install a custom OS, press volume up key. Otherwise press the volume down key to cancel." If I press volume up, it just says downloading... Do not turn off target. It is not a typical screen when going into stock recovery mode (which is what I think its called, Sorry for sounding uneducated about this I just forgot the name for it).

Can someone help me on how to manually update and how to get the screen to go away?

P.S. When I click volume up to install the update, it says that it is in ODIN MODE in red letters at the top right then it says, in white, product name: SPH-L710, custom binary download:No, current binary:Samsung Official, system status:Official then under that in gray it says Qualcom Secureboot: Enable

That isn't recovery that is download mode. You want to press VOLUME UP, power and home buttons. Hold until you see Samsung then release. That will put you into recovery...

Download mode is achieved by pressing VOLUME DOWN, power and home buttons. This is not what you want.

When viewing the post, there should be an edit button below and to the right. Click that, and you should see a delete button in about the same location, between Go Advanced and Cancel.
