Im Hesitant About Installing Jellybean, I have one question

I may get the third degree for asking this before thoroughly searching but I want to install the December 24 version of Jellybean on my Razr Maxx as bad as a kid waiting for a xmas present in January but I've read reports that you lose the ability to wirelessly tether to a laptop or any other device for free. I don't really care if I use wires or wireless to tether but is there another app that allows one to tether his or her phone using their unlimited data plan for free. If I have to root then I don't mind doing that either just as long as I can tether to my laptop when I need to.
