Is there a port of PuTTY or something similar for android for times I forgot the laptop and need to connect to something via the Wifi?
Preferably something without ads? The Mac had a public domain Telnet client since the mid 1990's as well as free SSH terminal programs. I've used PuTTY for over 25 years on Windows. Every version of Linux and Unix I've used has had SSH and Telnet commands built in, even if limited. Every version of Windows has had telnet client built in, although some it had to be activated.
So why can I only find paid, or intrusive-ad/spyware supported programs for Android for this simple function.
Telnet is the simplest internet protocol out there.
Oh, and it needs to either have user-adjustable text, use the larger system font size that I set, or display text in a readable size, not the microscropic text on my phone's screen many programs foist off on me before I uninstall them if I can't find a way to adjust it with a magnifying glass after projecting it onto a 30" television (sad thing is that isn't a joke, and after giving up on finding a way to increase the text size I hit the "uninstall" button on said app due to the unreadable text that made fine print look big. It was a rogue-like game, but I don't recall which one. Angband, Moria, Rogue, Omega, I can't recall, but some version of a port of one of those it did that).
