I'm new. Please help

Hi. I live with my elderly mother. She has fallen down in the middle of the night and not been able to get up or wake me up by yelling for me. So I thought I'd get her a smart watch. I don't need one that makes calls all on its own. But do they make them so that you can make a call if your phone is nearby? Thanks for your help.

Well, right now she has an LG. Not sure which one.. G4, maybe.. But, that's the thing. I dint necessarily want to get her tied down to one particular brand of phone, if possible. For example, the tiny bit of research I've done makes it look like Samsung has a good smart watch, but I don't want to be forced to bu Samsung phones forever. Knew what I mean? But if I gotta.. Lol.. She's due for an upgrade. So I guess that's good. Thanks for your help.

To be honest I don't think a smartwatch would do the job. I would look at an alert bracelet or necklace. One button to push and x amount of family members get notified.
My grandfather has one, it calls a set list in order until someone answers.

Remember that these you have to charge quite often. Id go the alert bracelet route.
